Recently I met a group of guys that meet once a week. They first started meeting after one buried his wife. The rest of the guys showed up on their friend’s front porch and just sat with him. A few years later, the guy that started the whole thing buried his 9-year-old daughter, and the group of friends sat on his front porch, living out Romans 12:15. “Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep.” They have continued to meet every week for Porch Time, and their group has grown. And please remember, you don’t need to wait until someone experiences loss to be there for and with them. Talk—or don’t talk. Encourage each other as we walk this road of life.
